“My work is built on a few series of paintings, which are focused on two constant objectives:
- Exploring the possibilities of black and white.
- The antagonisms of perception.
The exclusive use of Black and White is the result of a 10+-year research on tone and luminance, the direct and the “essential” of a phenomenon.
The dismantlement of the surface is urging the viewer into a duality where figurative and abstraction are at the forefront, a duality which quickly becomes useless to grasp the oeuvre itself, only then to question the relationship between Reality and its representation.
This “permanent back-and-forth from the detail to the whole”, from micro to macro and in-between, allows for the “position of the vision” to be found, which in return informs the view on his own perception.

L’emploi exclusif du noir et blanc est induit par une recherche initiée depuis plus de 10 ans sur la tonalité et la luminance, le direct et l’essentiel du phénomène.
La déconstruction de la surface, quant à elle, engage le spectateur dans une dualité figuration / abstraction qui se retrouve rapidement inutile pour appréhender l’oeuvre et questionne, dès lors, le rapport au Réel et à sa représentation.
Cet "aller-retour permanent du détail au tout" permet de trouver « l’endroit du regard » qui enseigne sur sa propre perception."
