J'ai décidé il y a 5 ans de traiter un sujet que j'affectionne, la mer en tant que paysage mais aussi comme enjeu sociétal majeur actuel, la méditerranée, lieu d'échange, de rêves et de migration. Derrière cet horizon se cachent des espoirs et des drames aussi. Au delà de la morale, ma position d'artiste m'a guidé vers une position simple, traverser jour après jour par la peinture cette mer en y apportant mes sentiments profonds face à ce que je vois et je vis jour après jour. Face au sujet donc, je transforme le réel par un instantané de noir et blanc, mettant à distance l'anecdote de la couleur pour se concentrer sur la lumière et la suspension de l'instant. Ici sont présentées les dernières et ultimes Migration de la série III, il n'y en aura plus après, le cycle est terminé.

 

I decided 5 years ago to deal with a subject that I love, the sea as a landscape but also as a major current societal issue, the Mediterranean, a place of exchange, dreams and migration. Behind this horizon are hidden hopes and dramas too. Beyond morality, my position as an artist has guided me towards a simple position, to cross this sea day after day by painting this sea by bringing my deep feelings in front of what I see and I live day after day. Faced with the subject, therefore, I transform reality with a snapshot of black and white, putting the anecdote of color at a distance in order to concentrate on the light and the suspension of the moment. Here are presented the last and ultimate Migration of the series III, there will be no more after, the cycle is finished.
